The FDA has approved MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for post-traumatic stress disorder, making it the first psychedelic therapy officially sanctioned for medical use in the United States.

How It Works

The treatment involves three supervised MDMA sessions combined with ongoing psychotherapy over 12 weeks. Clinical trials showed 71% of participants no longer met PTSD diagnostic criteria after treatment.

The VA has announced it will cover the treatment for veterans, who suffer PTSD at rates 3x higher than the general population.
