Pfizer has issued an urgent voluntary recall of three blood pressure medications after testing revealed unacceptable levels of a nitrosamine impurity linked to increased cancer risk.
Recalled Medications
- Amlodipine/Valsartan 5/160mg (lots: PF26A-PF26H)
- Valsartan 80mg (lots: PF26J-PF26M)
- Valsartan 160mg (lots: PF26N-PF26R)
What to Do
Do NOT stop taking your medication without consulting your doctor — the risk of uncontrolled blood pressure is greater than the contamination risk. Contact your pharmacy for a replacement from an unaffected manufacturer. Pfizer is offering free replacements through its patient hotline.
